The conference programme is organised around three interconnected themes:

A competent and adaptable workforce is fundamental to ensuring safe, effective and person-centred patient care. As pharmacy roles continue to evolve across healthcare systems, there is an increasing need to develop knowledge, skills and professional capabilities throughout an individuals career.
This theme will explore innovative approaches to workforce development across the continuum of lifelong learning, from initial education and training through to advanced practice and leadership.
Example sessions could include:
- Innovations in undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing professional development (CPD) and technician education
- Evidence based studies on competency based education for the pharmacy workforce
- Innovations to support enhanced delivery of workplace based training and assessment
- Collaborative, interprofessional practice

Sustainability
Creating Sustainable Pharmacy Education and Practice
Sustainability is now a defining challenge for health professions worldwide. Pharmacy educators and practitioners have a crucial role to play in supporting environmentally responsible healthcare while ensuring sustainable educational programmes and workforce development.
This theme focuses on innovative approaches to designing, delivering and implementing pharmacy education in ways that are environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.
Example sessions could include:
- Sustainable delivery of education and training in academic settings
- Innovations in sustainable practices in the workplace with a focus on supporting training
- Innovative approaches to sustainability of education and training programmes
- Development of the workforce to meet long term goals
Safety
Advancing Safe and Effective Use of Medicines
Patient safety remains at the heart of pharmacy practice. Pharmacy professionals have a unique responsibility to optimise medicine use, reduce harm and improve healthcare outcomes across all sectors of care.
This theme will examine innovations in education, technology and practice that support safer prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medicines.
Example sessions could include:
- Quality delivery of prescribing training
- Development of educational models to support safe practice in prescribing and administering medicines
- Innovations in design of educational products and associated training
